Teachers’ training on ESD is a flagship program for RCE Beijing and many activities were held from 2005.Till now, teachers' training on ESD in RCE Beijign is taking the leading role in China. The related activities and programs have a lot, for example:
(1)The first Graduate class on ESD in China (January,2006)
Beijing Normal University ( core member organization of RCE Beijing) held the first graduate class on ESD in Beijing and the students are 29 teachers and presidents in the primary and middle schools. They graduated from the class in January in 2006. They studied six courses in two years on every Saturday and they have implemented ESD into their daily teaching and daily management for schools. The six courses included:
- Introduction of Sustainable Development
- Theories of ESD
- Implementation Guide and Activity Design of ESD
- Evaluation of ESD
- Practice of ESD in Schools
- School Management and School-based Curriculum of ESD
(2)The Second Graduate class on ESD in Beijing (September,2006)
Beijing Normal University cooperated with Changping Education Committee to hold the second graduate class on ESD in Changping district in Beijing in September, 2006. 44 students from primary and middle schools and environmental sectors will finish studying six courses about ESD in two years.
